How to Save Money on Citrus!

There's a new and improved version of super juice in town.

Super juice is a fresh citrus juice alternative that is made by blending citrus peel, citrus juice, citric and malic acid with water to 8x your yields. Kevin Kos popularised this technique with this video that has now received 1.8 million views.

To be honest though, I was never 100% sold on super juice.

I loved the concept of it - how it improves yields, saves money and is better from a sustainability standpoint. But, I didn't like the taste of it in citrus-forward drinks such as a Daiquiri.

That is until now.

A bartender named Brian Tasch had been working on a citrus alternative of his own since 2020. The recipe has some similarities to super juice but a few key changes that make it better than super juice (in my opinion).

Brian's Pseudo Citrus is more rounded, has better texture and is hard to distinguish in a blind side by side tasting. I'll be using it for all my cocktails moving forward.

I've also created a free calculator so you can easily work out alternate volumes to those that are featured in the video.

Have you tried super juice or pseudo citrus? What did you think?

Tip of the Week Many years ago I ran a mobile cocktail bartending business. We catered for hundreds of events over the years.. This is baby-faced me at one of my earliest events over ten years ago! The number one most requested cocktail for each menu was the mojito. Hands down. Literally almost every event we were making them en masse. I wish I used this nifty "hack" to simplify my life. It would have saved ridiculous amounts of time. It's surprisingly simply. No fancy equipment. No advanced...
